Amazingly, though we were braving a pretty severe storm system yesterday and last night, rain did not interfere with our Vegan Feed-In (or “Veeg-In”) at lunch today in the Downtown Crossing of Boston, MA. No rain at all, in fact… but quite a lot of wind!
We handed about 100 lucky Bostonians a free vegan brown bag lunch, featuring Tofurky deli sandwiches, Tings, Crispy Cat organic vegan candy bars, and Larabars. Wheelers Black Label Vegan Ice Cream provided peppermint chocolate and ginger non-dairy ice cream. Despite the progressively colder winds, we gave away every last scoop (about 150 samples)!
Special thanks to Yellowspot Design for amazing work producing our beautiful, professional new dining guide and for getting our “Free Vegan Food” banner together in time for the event. Much gratitude also to the Downtown Crossing Association for welcoming us to the area, and to the following companies for donating their products for our event:

Of course, we had big help from a grant by the Sabina Fund, which helped us promote vegan eating in concert with the Great American Meatout going on around the country. It was a very positive event, with lots of great conversations and email sign-ups, almost no negativity (though, I think this may qualify). We also gave out nearly 250 vegan dining guides!
