WI - Clamp Down on Puppy Mills!!!
Submitted by For The Love of the Dog
Dear Wisconsin Advocates,
Wisconsin Senate Bill 308 is ASPCA-supported, humane legislation that will help dogs in puppy mills by requiring that commercial dog breeders be licensed by the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Also, this bill will make it illegal for pet stores to sell dogs who came from unlicensed breeders and provide remedies for consumers who unwittingly purchase sick puppies.
The Senate Small Business and Consumer Protection Committee plans to hold a hearing on SB 308 this Thursday, January 10, at 11:00 A.M.
What You Can Do
Please visit the ASPCA Advocacy Center to send an email to the committee that will be weighing in on SB 308 this week. The email asks the senators on the committee to support this important humane legislation—please don’t forget to personalize the letter by adding your own comments!
