I just got this newsletter from Dogs and Ticks.com and the timing was coincidental. Just this week a friend of mine had their dog to the vet and Shiloh was diagnosed with Anaplasmosis. Definitely thought this would be some great information to pass along!

Anaplasmosis is a tick-borne disease very similar to Lyme disease and it can be just as dangerous to dogs if it goes undetected. Find out if anaplasmosis is affecting dogs in your area with our new U.S. incidence map.

Facts about anaplasmosis:

  • Veterinary clinics have discovered that dogs throughout the U.S. are testing positive.
  • Canine anaplasmosis is transmitted by the deer tick—the same tick that transmits Lyme disease.
  • Anaplasmosis symptoms are similar to Lyme disease symptoms: arthritis-like with multiple painful joints. Some infected dogs run a high fever accompanied by lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea and a lack of appetite.
