Kenneth Cassar writes one of the best animal rights blogs in the world. His articles are incredibly well written with an obvious passion for the cause.
We fundamentally disagree with his stance on the Maltese National Canine Federation. Although breeders and dog show enthusiasts are using dogs for the wrong reasons according to Cassar, he seems to purposely disconnect the fact that many of these dog show dogs are treated better than most humans. If the dogs could talk, they’d disagree with Cassar.
What’s your opinion?

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackThe issue of breeding is not as simple as the question of whether the dogs used (the ones that are kept alive - not the ones discarded for not being “perfect”, or the ones sold as if they are sold as property) are treated better than humans or not. It’s much more complex than that.

Ken
You’re welcome, and thanks for your comment about my blog. I do my best to promote my opinions on animal rights the best way I can.
It is a good thing that others (like you) do so as well. A reasoned opinion can only be reached by weighing different views.
I should point out, however, that my disagreement is with all “domestication” of non-human animals, and not just with breed enthusiasts.
That said, thankfully I think we agree on most other non-human animal issues.
Regards,
Kenneth
